ZENABOWLI'S ART SPACEFreestyle Artist, Computer-Graphics, Fine Art, Music July 16 More Experiments With Live Writer
This is an attempt to develop a consistent look to my blog postings here at Windows Live Space. The WYSIWYG thing is always an evolving process of trial and error. For now I am attempting to establish a font style and color to use throughout all blog postings. There is a function that is suppose to read the settings and continue duplication of the settings. So far this has come up short on my expectations. It's probably something I've overlooked. I'll be linking to Wikipedia, regardless of it's rep for unreliability, for links that require unspecific information. Use common sense is always a sound approach. Wiki has always been a good place to get a foot hold on any topic and ,usually, will link to reliable authorities on most topics. As usual these postings are still a journal for myself and anyone interested in getting a close look at an evolving process when learning to adapt to a new artistic medium. Any comments are welcome. Enter Post Title HereThis is a posting test July 15 Net Framework 3.5 and Live Writer on Windows XPSo... after being dormant and not posting any blogs for sometime now. Windows Live Writer wasn't in the mood to cooperate. After doing some investigation I ended up downloading and installing the latest version of Net Framework 3.5 and now this post will be a demonstration of it's function and compatibility. Apparently Net Framework comes standard with the Vista operating system and needs to be installed as and add on in the XP operating system and older. Even as a novice blog writer, I am satisfied that Windows Live Writer will be a useful tool for some time as my blogging skills evolve. Until next time, I still would enjoy any comments or insite that any one would like to share. November 30 Using Windows Live Writer/ An Experimental PostingThis is a trial posting using Windows Live Writer. As in the earlier postings this is still an experimental process. At this stage of writing blog entries, there is still a lot of learning going on. Future postings will have a clear intent and purpose. For now I am merely leaving a "trail of bread crumbs" so to speak as a future reference to the beginning of an experimental and evolving process. In the last several months I have been exploring and learning to understand the world of blogging. There seems to be a wide range of economic and social opportunities out there. Some of what i have encountered has been quite fruitful and helpful. Yet, one should be aware that there are a lot of hucksters and spammers out there. Be vigilant and cognizant of what you come across. All in all, this has been a refreshing adventure, where as I have meet many a fine strangers from around the world. There is a dynamic quality that comes from new adventures with unforeseeable possibilities. If any one cares to share any relevant comments on any of this, please do it. In this world if blogging I'm no expert, yet in time who knows. Maybe it's in the fun of becoming. As part of this experiment I've inserted a computer graphic image made from a photo I took in Yellowstone back in 2004. Live writer has a sidebar with a menu of tools. It was easy to navigate to my files and insert the image, with sizing nodes and crossbar for moving. The program did insist on putting the image above the text. To review Live Writer as a tool to make postings easier on Windows Live Space, I would have to say that it was easy to configure and navigate. Although I haven't attempted to post this entry yet. We'll see here in a bit. I just put in the tags. It was easy to position them and the dialogue box was easy to work with. The hyperlink tool seems to be easy and self explanatory with some convenient features. I KNOW, to all you experienced bloggers this is a bit rudimentary, but there are a lot of folks out there just getting there feet wet. Many will have much to offer once they get command of the tools. June 04 Posting Original Music at Live Space Since my last entry several months ago, I have been exploring, for me personally ,this new world of online communication. What started off as an adventure into the unknown has evolved into a learning experience of multiple dimensions. From a social standpoint I stumbled on Stumbleupon, a social blog that can only be described by a personal investigation of your own. This is a topic that I will discuss in future blog postings. The next thing I took on was researching many of the online services available, mostly free, to the online art community. There are many hosting sites for works of art, photography, music and video. Again, much is there for free. The biggest challenge initially, after successfully posting my art on this LIVE SPACE site was to post my original music using the media player available. At the time live space help made no recommendations. I tried many host providers ,but the code they provided would not activate the media player. I found some that did work but the host site would drop my account after a time. Finally, I found Minor Crisis to be the most reliable and compatible. Keep in mind that activity is required on a consistent basis to keep an account active. This means regular downloads. Now the LIVE SPACE media player plays a multi-instrumental piece that I recorded back in 1997 on a multi-track tape machine. This I made available for experimental purposes for now. Newer works of music will be posted after securing copyrights.
I have posted two other works that I call "Freestyle Guitar". These are basically my "creative practice sessions"; where as I freely improvise on guitar with some kind of sense of continuity of composition and at the same time maintain a sense of spontaneity. Through this adventuresome process, there has evolved many consistent compositions of solo guitar music. These will be recorded and made available in a commercial format in the near future. For now and through this creative process I am making my "creative practice sessions" available for free down load. The different tunes in the Freestyle Music list are each hosted by different providers as an experiment in use compatibility. Freestyle Guitar in D is hosted by FILE FREAK and the easiest to access and will be my first choice for future postings of these practice sessions or any other original music that i offer for free down load. Keep in mind that these recordings are a bit long winded a rough in spots. These are not finished compositions and are played in a way to have an ambient quality. Fantasia is the classical term used. You'll have to keep an open mind sometimes.
I would like to mention that I am still looking for leads to more free hosting sites. I will be posting an article soon on just this topic. Any suggestions can be given at Stumbleupon or here at LIVE SPACE. Note that being a subscriber is necessary to make contact at these sites. Not to crazy about that, but for the price what can we do.
I have been discussing this online networking with other artists and they are curious to know more. As I have followed the lead of many artists with an online presence, I will be sharing through this blog what discoveries were made by me and others. For those who happen upon these postings and have any insights to offer, an invitation is open.
December 09 Zenabowli Art I have added a small sample of my art that I call "digital freestyle", done with a PC. There are many in the art world that are quick to judge digital art as not art. The same attidude was taken toward Ansel Adams and his amazing photos nearly a hundred years ago. Now photography is an accepted "FINE ART" medium. Computer art has no history of it's own so we, the first generation of digital artists, will have the opportunity to define it's history. After all this work is done by skilled artists and not plumbers. Not unless they have a second job anyway.
To be honest I think this site is going to be an interactive promotional outlet. I am curious to connect with other opinions on this subject, the art work or any thing else. Let's have fun and find a connection. I am game for anything outside of corruption and human degridation. Now it starts This is the beginning of a new and surreal adventure. And in the spirit of Surrealism (free flow of consiousness) I have no pre conceived notion of where we will go, what we will do, who will be part of this adventure, what will be said or when it will end. The fact is I don't know what the f.... I'm doing, yet. I do see the possibilities of an artistic adventure that will evolve and unfold on its own. Sometimes consciousness and interaction take on a life of it's own. There is much we can learn from the unknown. I also know people love to communicate on all sorts of levels and topics, personal and other wise. For me personally, I'm a freestyle artist who is game for unusial possibilities... keep it clean. Let this adventure define itself. Have fun. Let us all know what you know think and feel about anything. I guess my job now is to let people know how to find Zenabowli's Art Space and see what happens. |
